The producer of the KORG 01/w used the same type of sound production as the M1 model - the AL2 Synthesis System. Samples are saved in 6MB internal ROM Memory. In the internal memory, the producer saved 200 program sounds and 200 combination sounds.

The sound of the KORG 01/W is, in my opinion, timeless. This instrument produces extraordinarily clear original sounds. You will hear the same sounds in all contemporary songs. Another plus is the incredible PAD sounds which can be used to enhance the background of your composition. From people I've spoken to personally, there have been a lot of complaints concerning the percussion sounds of this instrument. However, in my opinion, if the drum session is well-done and quality effects are used, everything should sound fine.

fX processor

KORG 01/w includes a stereo FX processor which gives you full control over the FX with its 47 algorithms. There are two options for connecting the FX-serial and parallel. The advantage of the processor is that you can modify the FX in real time. In my opinion the best FX offered are REVERB, CHORUS and DELAY.

sequencer

In the sequencer you can save 10 songs, 100 patterns, and a maximum of 7 000 notes. 16 tracks can be saved per song. Working with the sequencer is made easy by the LCD graphics which allows all beginners to record with ease.

I have used this extraordinary instrument for 8 years now and can say that I am self-taught in almost every aspect. The way I learned was simply by trial and error. Over the course of the past 8 years, I've composed many songs that have been used in multi-media presentations and advertisements. I can honestly say that I will be using the KORG 01/W for many years to come.
